| Chemical Remediation |
|
Chemical remediation involves the addition or injection of specific chemical compounds to break down or neutralize contaminants. A wide variety of processes and reactions are available, depending on contaminant chemistry and receiving environment. These may include: Oxidation / Reduction, Neutralization, Stabilization, Solidification or Mobilization. Georem has significant experience with the use of In Situ Chemical Oxidation (ISCO) applications for the treatment of "hot spots" and marginal dissolved phase hydrocarbon contamination. Chemical oxidation has been used effectively in conjunction with free phase recovery and pump-and-treat systems. Follow-up treatment using bioremediation has also been applied in several interventions.
